The Challenge
Located at the border of Old Montreal and near City Hall, the challenge is to blend harmoniously with the imposing silhouettes of the surrounding buildings.
The Response
This high-density residential project offers 50 housing units, featuring underground parking and an outdoor pool on the roof. The concept is inspired by an iconic typology of Montreal's historical development: the industrial loft, characterized by generous fenestration (“factory windows”). Additionally, the project contemporary reinterprets the classical architectural language of Old Montreal, particularly that of stone buildings, by incorporating a commercial ground floor that combines transparency and lightness.
